Alyce Reviewed 06. January 2025 The location is fabulous! Grand Hotel Praha is right across from the Astronomical Clock and it is always a busy place with lots of energy. Cafe Mozart where breakfast is served looks out on the clock and the business of the square. Breakfast itself was full of interesting choices. It turned out to be my favorite meal of the day! Staff was helpful and hotel rooms were comfortable- Sean G. Reviewed 06. January 2025 We cannot compliment your staff nor our room (#312) enough. It was perfect for the duration of our stay. The breakfast buffet was large, with a wonderful variety & always well presented. Speed was good & always accessible. Staff were attentive, helpful & kind at all times. Simply stunning. Right opposite the famous clock & mere steps away from the old town square. Always clean & tidy at all times of the day. Beautifully decorated.

Taxi overcharge by 19euro, receptionist argued she was correct although your website and brochure stated otherwise. Room not as described. Paid for Superior room with "pictorial street view" received room with frosted over windows which opened onto pigeon infested roof! Offered different rooms with the same outlook. Very disappointed as this was a special break. Receptionist very rude and gave reason as the building being historical! We hzve stayed many times in Prague in historical buildings without this Outlook. Your website and room brochure are very misleading. We did receive a 100euro refund as compensation but would rather have had what we paid for. Your comments would be appreciated.

January 2025 We booked a "Superior Double room with street view (as per your website)' for 4 nights along with airport taxi quoted at 39eutos for 4 people.(again as per your website). We were charged 59euros!! When we took this up eith your very rude receptionist she told us this was correct as we needed a bus for 8 people?? She wasn't interested in discussing this further. We were then shown to our room which in itself was satisfactory but we were looking to open the window and have a coffee. We are then faced with frosted over windows overlooking a pigeon infested roof!! Not the srteetview advertised. We could not keep the window open. We spoke yo the receptionist who showed us a different room with same Outlook. We offered to psy for an upgrade but got very little response. This was a special break for us that was ruined. We did eventually receive a 100euro refund for the taxi overcharge and compensation however this is not what we expected and would have rather had what we paid for! We have stayed in Prague many times in historical buildings and find this as an excuse very poor to say the least. Overall, this was a very disappointing stay at your hotel, and we would not recommend anyone to stay there. Please can you explain why you.offer something on your website that is NOT correct? Colin Jackson Poor service in cafe. First meal waitress forgot my wife's meal! I had eaten (to avoid it going cold) before she received any food. Upon asking where it was we were told we hadn't ordered anything!!! Eventually received and not charged for but again this was not what was expected. Not very welcoming receptionist and cafe staff.
- John L. Reviewed 25. December 2024 We went to Prague for the Christmas markets and this hotel is directly in the middle of all the action. We are central to everything and it is very convenient to all attractions. Hotel is old world charming. Massive rooms in an old building brings you back in time. Staff was great and very helpful. I will definitely stay here again. WiFi would disconnect and seemed slow but it was adequate.

The first room was a but run down and a bit dusty. The second room was smaller, but much nicer and in better shape
- Sharon Reviewed 27. November 2024 We could not have asked for more with our stay. The rooms were perfect, with a beautiful view of the clock. You really can’t beat the position. Plenty of restaurants, shops and things to do right on your doorstep. Taxi’s and drop off spot only 100 metres away. Yes there are a couple of steps to reception but then there is a lift. Must admit I was worried when I read recent reviews about the lift situation but had no need to. Would suggest to all those whingers to check the room type you book and also stipulate your needs. Book the appropriate room directly with the hotel and your needs are catered for. There are sections for comments. Rooms are traditional and clean, didn’t see a spider in site. Thanks for a wonderful stay, highly recommend.

November 2024 I paid in advance for a king-size bed but upon checking in I’ve been told that the room was equipped with single beds and I have even been asked if I could simply “cope” with it. It is human and kind of acceptable to make a mistake, but the approach on how to deal with it was totally unprofessional. I’ve been told that no rooms were available and even if I’d complained nothing would have changed either. Magically upon showing up at the front desk and pretending to talk with the Hotel Manager, a new room appeared… See above Great spot Lovely
